Outland is an employee owned enterprise founded in 1985.
A brief history of our workforce housing and camp catering highlights:
1985:
Outland founded. Starting as a reforestation company, establishes remote work camps for forestry operations.
1990:
Outland completes first 100% helicopter access camp project in Alberta. We develop helicopter friendly work camps.
1997:
Outland becomes a long term supplier of Forest Fire Base Camps. Supplies up to 500 man camps supplying high quality catering service with just 48 hours set up time.
1998:
Outland begins share purchase plan with key managers. The share purchase plan becomes the foundation of Outland's management structure. Outland is and remains 100% employee owned.
2000:
Outland partners with First Nations Communities in the Thunder Bay area to develop the First Nation Ranger Program. Training hundreds of 17-18 year old FN youth in forestry and mining skills in residential program. Wins Aboriginal Training organization of the year award.
2002:
Outland acquires contracts to supply workforce accomodations and camp catering to drill rigs in Alberta.
2007:
Outland designs, builds and installs two 500-person modular camps – one in Nunavut one in Nunavik.
2010:
Outland designs, builds, installs and caters 200 man man modular camp in Manitoba.
2010:
With Inuit partner, Outland caters 500 person modular camp in Nunavik.
2011:
With First Nation partner, Outland provides camp catering services at 300 person mine site in Ontario.
2011:
Outland is now feeding 4,000 people per day in 7 provinces and 1 territory.
